This Fall's New Shows

Just read in the newspaper yesterday that Jericho, a CBS pilot that I worked on, got picked up. I think that Jericho was my fourth pilot and the first to be aired and picked up for at least part of a season. We'll see what happens with it... but I'll alway be able to say I was there for the beginning.

From the article found in the LA times, it look like most prime time stations are trying to replace the old half hour comedy line up with hour long dramas that are relatable to the public. Jerchico is a show about the a disaster that leaves one town desperate for answers and for the luxuries of modern life. Much like Lost, a show which I have never myself seen, I have been told it places of off one's fear and needs of surviving in a less than comforting society.

Other show's new this fall include:

CBS
Jericho- w/ Skeet Ulrich and Ashley Scott
The Class- a show about the reunion of a third grade class
Smith- criminal drama w/ Ray Liotta
Shark- James Woods plays a defense attorney

NBC:
Studio 60 on Sunset Stripw/ Matthew Perry and Amanda Peet
The Girly Show w/ Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin
Kidnapped
Heroes
Raines
The Black Donnellys written by Paul Haggis (Crash)
Friday Night Lights
20 Good Years
The singles table

ABC
Big Day- what else? but a show about the drama leading up to a wedding
Betty the Ugly
Notes from the Underbelly- help and advice for expecting parents
Men in Trees w/ Anne Heche
Six Degrees- about how many New York's lives connect and change the lives of others
Brothers and Sisters w/ Calista Flockhart
The Nine w/ Scott Wolf
Help Me, Help You w/ Ted Danson
Let's Rob

Looks to me like all the major networks either stole thier programing ideas from TLC or recycled from the past years successful reality series and formulaic dramas. Television at its best. I'm happy to be a part of it.
